Prof. Ndowa Ekoate Sunday Lale is an erudite professor of Agricultural Entomology, current Vice-Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt and Chairman, U & C Microfinance Bank Limited.

 

Prof. Lale obtained his West African Certificate (Division 1) from Ascension High School Ogale Eleme in 1976 and Federal Government College Port Harcourt in 1978. In 1981, He bagged a First Class (B.Sc) degree in Agriculture from University of Maiduguri and subsequently, a PhD in Agricultural Entomology from the University of Newcastle, England in 1987.  Prof. Lale is a consummate professional and Fellow of the Entomological Society of Nigeria.

 

Prof Lale’s wealth of experience, agility and intellectual prowess are invaluable assets to the Board of U & C Microfinance Bank Ltd. Before his appointment as the Chairman of U & C Microfinance Bank Ltd, he had been in the saddle of a similar subsidiary of the University of Port Harcourt as Chairman, Board of Governors of University Demonstration Secondary School. Prof. Lale is also the President African Development Network, Chairman, Governing Council Eleme Development Authority. He was the pioneer Dean, Faculty of Agriculture University of Port Harcourt. He has also held many appointments within and outside the University community. His profound intellectual background and versatile experience is indeed manifesting in the current renewed drive towards taking the bank to greater heights.
